Wildwood Boardwalk
Let the fun begin!

Generations of visitors LOVE the Boardwalks at the Jersey Cape. For more than a century, strolling the boards in Ocean City and the Wildwoods has been a must-do experience for visitors of all ages.  For some it is a rite of passage, that long awaited day or night when you can go to the 'boards' with your friends and experience the thrill and excitement as a young teen.  For others it is the family outing that is sure to instantly put a happy face on the kids and lifetime memories for all.

Ask yourself...where else can you enjoy an eclectic carnival of exciting rides, sights and sounds, charming shops and the irresistible aromas of pizza popcorn and cotton candy, all set against a backdrop of sea and sand? It's something that brings the child out in all of us and draws people back year after year.
By day, boardwalks in Cape May County serve a variety of purposes: a destination to grab a bite during a break from the sun and fun on the beach, or a place to shop without the hustle and bustle of nighttime crowds. In the morning, the boards are large bicycle paths, often with families taking a leisurely ride and enjoying the seaside scenery. Waterparks on the boardwalks are popular spots every afternoon and early evening as visitors enjoy slippery and wet poolside fun as an alternative to the beach and ocean.

The Ocean City Boardwalk is more than two miles of family fun, lined with shops, candy stores, eateries and amusement piers. From early morning to late at night the boardwalk is the center of activity for those on the go. The Music Pier, located on the boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace, is the home of the Ocean City Pops and hosts a variety of musical, artistic and community events throughout the year.

Watch the tram car please...
The Wildwood Boardwalk is home to those familiar yellow tram cars that continually traverse the 38 blocks of endless shops, arcades, eateries, water parks and amusement piers. The boardwalk runs from Wildwood into North Wildwood and has the largest concentration of amusement attractions in the country.  The Wildwoods Convention Center welcomes many of the resort's special events, including sporting events, concerts and trade expos.  Watch a spectacular fireworks display every Friday night during July and August.
While Southern New Jersey's vacationers flock to the region's major Boardwalks, there are promenades in other resort towns. Sea Isle City's Promenade runs along the beach and is a fun place for families day and night with concerts, special events, arcades, shopping and biking.

Cape May's Convention Hall is the centerpiece of the resort's beachfront promenade, and hosts a variety of entertainment events year round. The Promenade, just steps away from the famous restaurants and great attractions in America's First Seaside Resort, is also home to summer craft and art shows and many other events such as the Great Cape May Footrace and more - take place along Beach Avenue that runs parallel to the city's Promenade.

After the rides it is a must to try the pizza, ice cream, salt water taffy, and funnel cake - they all taste better on the boardwalk,  it’s  part of the fun ... and the tradition.
